Ege Pehlivanoglu

MSc, Research assistant

Ege has been a research assistant at GEDB since January 2023 and she works within the Global Health and Biosphere Stewardship theme.

As an evolutionary biologist, Ege currently focuses on Antimicrobial Resistance which is a major global health challenge in the Anthropocene era. She is investigating how various governmental actions can help to reduce the increase in resistance of bacteria to the current antibiotics by analysing worldwide data provided by international public health agencies and intergovernmental organizations.

Ege holds a BSc degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Istanbul Technical University. After completing her Bachelor's she finished Erasmus Mundus Master Programme in Evolutionary Biology (MEME). She holds an MSc degree in Biology from Uppsala University and another MSc degree in Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution from the University of Montpellier. Her previous works during her master's focused on human evolution.
